Allie sundt

Birth + Postpartum Doula + Midwife assistant

TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF

My name is Allie Sundt. I'm an Army brat, born in Germany and raised in the South and El Paso, TX. I have been in birth work and postpartum care for 6 years and have been a certified doula since 2022. I have also been a certified midwifery assistant for 4 years with Mobile Midwife of San Antonio, and I started midwifery school in May 2023. I have two amazing kids, Evelyn (9) and Logan (6), who are my reason for being. I love going to the gym and listening to podcasts and audiobooks, and I love learning all I can about women's health.

HOW DID YOU COME TO DOULA WORK?

I started my journey with birth work in 2007 after watching The Business of Being Born. After two unmedicated births, one at home, my love of birth continued to grow. My midwife and doula showed me what it was to truly mother and to mother myself. Postpartum was a different story. I struggled with postpartum anxiety, and healing from it showed me how much support matters after the baby arrives, not just during labor. When my father died in October 2021, I realized how much we need to cherish life and follow our passions. After 10 years as a cosmetologist and esthetician, I finally took the leap into birth and postpartum work. It has been joyous and eye-opening, and I truly feel called to it.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST OR FIND MOST REWARDING ABOUT DOULA WORK?

I feel happiest serving others, and I am passionate about supporting LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC families. I want to offer the emotional support I was not given. I have worked for rescue missions and a child crisis center. Walking beside a birthing person through labor, and then through the tender, tiring early weeks at home, is a privilege.

what are your specialties or areas of particular passion?

I am a Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula and Certified Midwifery Assistant, trained in Spinning Babies, with workshops on postpartum mood disorders. My credentials include:

  • BLS and CPR

  • Infant CPR

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

  • Trauma-Informed Care certification

I'm also a licensed esthetician, which gives me a soft spot for skin changes during pregnancy and postpartum. I love birth, and I love the fourth trimester just as much. Whether I'm guiding you through labor or helping you rest, recover, and feel like yourself again, my goal is calm, nurturing, informed support for the whole journey.
