TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF

My name is DeAnna Vonbartheld, and I’m a proud mother of two boys, a Full Spectrum Doula, a placenta encapsulation specialist, and a devoted advocate for birthing people and families across Texas. I serve as the Co-founder and Vice President of the Texas Doula Association (TDA).

With a background in healthcare and advocacy, I’ve spent years building programs that center the needs of our most vulnerable communities because I believe that every family deserves to be cared for with dignity, respect, and cultural understanding.

As a placenta specialist, I approach every encapsulation with the highest standards of safety, respect, and care. For me, this work is sacredβ€”an extension of the love I pour into my own family and community. I treat each placenta with reverence, honoring the powerful role it plays in postpartum recovery. Whether you’re seeking more energy, hormonal balance, or emotional support after birth, I’m here to help you feel nourished, held, and restored.

My clients often say they feel deeply cared for not just as customers, but as people. That’s because I don’t just offer a serviceβ€”I offer my heart, my hands, and my commitment to helping birthing individuals feel strong in their recovery journey

HOW DID YOU COME TO DOULA WORK?

My journey into doula work began with a personal calling to support others through one of life’s most sacred transitions: becoming a parent.

As both a trained nurse and a mother of two, I’ve experienced firsthand the beauty and challenges that can come with pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery. Along the way, I saw how much more supported families feel when they are truly seen, heard, and cared for.

What started as advocacy for better care soon became a passion that led me to birthwork, placenta encapsulation, and building supportive programs that uplift families and doulas alike.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST OR FIND MOST REWARDING ABOUT DOULA WORK?

So many things! Besides seeing all the squishy babies, I love checking in with clients in the weeks after their baby is born to see how they’re doing. It’s always this beautiful mix of exhaustion, spit-up, and doubt, mixed with love, wonderment, and pride. All of these things are so formative to who we are as parents and it is such a special privilege to be able to witness that.

what are your specialties or areas of particular passion?

The most rewarding part of this work is being able to nurture others during deeply personal and transformative times. Whether I’m encapsulating a placenta with care and intention or holding space during labor, I’m honored to be part of such powerful moments.

Supporting families in the postpartum period, when everything is shifting, is especially close to my heart. I also love mentoring doulas and creating pathways for more people to access the kind of care that makes them feel whole, respected, and supported.
