Jisayah Mcgrew
Birth + POSTPARTUM Doula
TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF
Hi, I'm Jisayah! I'm a full-spectrum birth and postpartum doula, womb practitioner, herbalist, and mama of three. When I'm not attending births, you'll usually find me supporting women in reconnecting with themselves as they navigate life's transitions, heal from past experiences, and build a deeper relationship with their bodies. When Iโm not doing anything work related, Iโm usually homeschooling my kids, tending to mygarden or making herbal remedies.
HOW DID YOU COME TO DOULA WORK?
Motherhood completely changed my life. Through my own experiences with pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and pregnancy loss, I realized how powerful it is to have someone truly in your corner. That journey led me to become a doula, and it's been one of the greatest honors to support families through such a life-changing season.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST OR FIND MOST REWARDING ABOUT DOULA WORK?
My favorite part is watching fear turn into confidence. To me, birth isn't just about bringing a baby into the world, itโs also about the birth of a mother. I love reminding women that they have a voice, that their choices matter, and that they don't have to walk this journey alone. Seeing a family welcome their baby knowing they felt supported every step of the way is something I'll never get tired of.
what are your specialties or areas of particular passion?
I'm passionate about preparing families for birth while also caring for the mother beyond the birth itself. I love incorporating holistic support, herbal remedies, postpartum traditions, and evidence-based education to help families feel informed, supported, and confident in their journey.
โThe most powerful motherhood role models are women who show you how to heal, not how to hide.โ
