From the moment we met Aubrey at Rooted Birth, we knew we were in expert, caring hands. She has been so supportive throughout our entire pregnancy experience and was such an integral part of the healthy and happy birth of our son.
Rooted set up a preliminary meeting with Aubrey to see if we were a good match and we immediately clicked. From there, we met with Aubrey twice in-home for pre-labor planning and support meetings. When I went into labor, Aubrey's guidance was integral to our success (particularly in knowing when it was time to head to the birthing center!). Once there, Aubrey provided emotional support for my partner and I, ideas for comfort measures, snapped photos of the process, and made sure all my birth plan wishes were being advocated for and met in the moment by myself and the staff.
About 24h and then again 48h after the birth, Aubrey came to our home to encapsulate my placenta (and create an amazing herbal salve and beautiful art print). She checked in on us and offered some much needed emotional support during that time.
It was such an incredibly positive experience with both Aubrey and Rooted Birth; I will never let a friend give birth without a doula!!!
