Just wanted to shout out and recommend Rooted Birth doulas! Seriously think doulas should be mandatory for every birth now that I know what they do and how knowledgeable they are (really feels like you’re talking to your own personal nurse). My doula Jennifer Hamilton took my pain levels down 3-4 levels during natural contractions, she helped to elaborate on the options my dr presented, and she stayed w me the whole time during labor/delivery. Absolutely loved it. Unfortunately my birth did not go as planned but with the doula we did make the best of the situation and I know I utilized all my resources!!! I highly recommend Jennifer Hamilton because of her experience level but also her demeanor — lots of evidence based knowledge with a character that is laidback and has the ability to adjust to the situation. She is super warm hearted with kiddos of her own and she really made me feel cared for!!
Also shoutout to doula Joanna who helped me reframe birth so I had the best “vaginal birth plan” and best “cesarean birth plan”, because as she said, whether c section or vaginal, birth is all natural, and it’s a time to celebrate your baby’s actual BIRTHday. 🥳
