I had Taryn as my doula for my home birth and let me just say I could NOT have gotten through my home birth without her! I am so thankful for her informational prenatal appointments and postnatal checkups! I had a successful home birth but had to go to the NICU because my baby aspirated meconium. Taryn came to the hospital and stayed a few hours there with me to help me start hand expressing colostrum and get started pumping since I couldn’t breastfeed. I can’t sing enough praises to Rooted Birth and to Taryn!

I couldn't recommend Noelle enough! My pregnancy had some unexpected complications that all happened suddenly several weeks before my due date. Noelle made herself available for me on short notice several times because of this and I know without her I would have had a much different birthing experience. Thank you for all you did!

Oh where to begin. I am so grateful for finding Rooted Birth. Initially, I was only looking for a birthing class for my home birth with my midwife. I was strongly encouraged by family and my midwife to utilized a doula as part of the birth team, and I am SO GLAD I did. Taryn was my doula, and I must say (I speak for my husband as well), she exceeded all our expectations and more. She is so professional, yet warm and so approachable while being extremely prompt and well-organized. She never missed a beat. She is also extremely intuitive on meeting emotional needs, ESPECIALLY on delivery day. Birth is a transcending experience and you don't notice much around you, or vocalize your own needs well. Taryn would ensure I was constantly hydrated, gave gentle scalp massages between contractions (these helped so much) and made me feel heard and validated as the pains increased. I am sure I'm forgetting much more. My birth experience was very difficult. By the end, I was completely worn out and had complications tended to by my midwives. While that was going on, Taryn fed me a small meal as I was too weak and depleted by then to feed myself. I cannot express how blown away I am by her care and attentiveness. I cannot recommend this group enough, Taryn especially. We will ABSOLUTELY be using her again for our next baby!

When I first met with Aubrey, it felt like I was meeting with an old friend. She is funny, intelligent, and has an energy that puts your anxieties to rest. I wouldn’t have been able to have the birth I imagined without her unwavering support throughout the insane ups and downs of my birthing journey. I knew I had the physical support of my husband, but I didn’t realize how much I needed another woman to hold space for me, empower me and believe in me. If you want an amazing doula, Aubrey is your girl ❤️.

My pelvic floor PT recommended Rooted Birth and I’m so happy I went with them for my second pregnancy! I got to meet a few of the doulas during the interview stage who were all so lovely and attentive. We decided to work with Taryn who has been amazing from our first prenatal and now postpartum. At each prenatal, she listened with such care and concern to my struggles with my first birth experience, helped me work through my fears with this pregnancy, and made my husband and I feel much more prepared this go around. During the labor and birth experience, Taryn was that calming and confident presence that we needed to get through each contraction. She made sure my husband was involved every step of the way which made such a difference. Even postpartum, Taryn has checked in regularly to see how we’re doing and helped me get connected to an IBCLC soon after birth.

I’ve also been to the Rooted Birth prenatal/postnatal support group. It’s so nice to have the space to interact with all the other doulas and new moms during this stage of life! Highly recommend working with Rooted Birth and Taryn!

In March, I had my first baby with Taryn as my doula and I could not have asked for a better experience! In our prenatal meetings, the tips and education that she gave me increased my confidence for labor, and when an ultrasound showed that my baby was breached at 35 weeks, she pointed me toward multiple useful resources in order to turn my baby - including exercises and a chiropractor. At 38 weeks, my baby was still breached. My provider, husband, and I decided to schedule a c-section. Taryn helped me make a new birth plan for a gentle cesarean. The care she provided helped me feel at peace with the change of plan. However, the day that I was supposed to have a C-section, the ultrasound showed that my baby had turned head down! Taryn celebrated with me and was able to join me in labor just a few days later. I give credit to Taryn for my being able to make it through labor and delivery without an epidural even though I was on Pitocin the entire time. In between contractions, she made it feel like I was at a spa - diffusing essential oils, putting a cool towel around my neck, and massaging my legs. During contractions, she helped me to keep my focus on my breathing, provided counter pressure, and helped me to ride each one out like a wave. I am convinced that the position changes that she had me do during labor decreased the length of my labor significantly. She worked extremely well with my midwife and nurse and I really did feel like we were all on the same team.

I was recommended to Rooted Birth through a friend and could not be more grateful I found Taryn Cardiff to be my doula. I’m a first time mom who currently holds my five week old baby after having a positive birth experience in the hospital. Once my contractions started picking up, Taryn stepped in and was able to help me continue to labor in the way that we previously discussed would be best for me. She met me where I was at and supported me in the birth wishes I set for myself. Truly, I am so grateful for her!
