TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF

Hi there! I’m Morgan, a NICU nurse and part-time newborn care specialist. Originally from Houston, I trained as a registered nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit, where my passion for specialized infant care began. Outside of work, you can usually find me curled up with a good book or show, planning my next travel adventure, or playing pickleball with my husband.

HOW DID YOU COME TO DOULA WORK?

As a NICU nurse, I discovered two big things: I loved supporting families through tough moments, and I had a real passion for teaching new parents. However, hospital care often ends right at discharge. I came to doula work because I wanted to keep teaching and guiding families in their own homes, giving them the personalized, continuous support they need once they're actually on their own.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST OR FIND MOST REWARDING ABOUT DOULA WORK?

What I find most rewarding is helping parents move from feeling overwhelmed to feeling confident. The newborn phase is hard, and sometimes you just need an extra set of hands you can trust. I love being that person! Whether I'm answering late-night questions, helping you set up a routine that fits your family, or just taking over so you can get a solid, uninterrupted nap. Seeing a parent finally take a deep breath and feel like 'we've got this' is the best part of the job. (The baby cuddles are also a great perk)

what are your specialties or areas of particular passion?

My background in the NICU naturally drives my passion for evidence-based care, infant safety, and smooth hospital-to-home transitions, especially for families bringing home multiples or babies needing extra care. I’m also a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST), so car seat safety is a huge passion of mine! Day-to-day, I love helping parents set up healthy sleep habits early on and supporting them in meeting their specific feeding goals, whatever those look like for their family.
